SWAG Pocket Park Ribbon Cutting

It was a great day at our SWAG playground ribbon cutting. So many wonderful people helped make this happen today… Dusty Hopkins who in 2005 donated the lot the playground is built on in honor of his brother Mark — and came with his family from Boca Grande to help us celebrate… our wonderful county commissioners for choosing the SWAG playground and pocket park as one of their very first Wild Spaces Public Places projects… our wonderful Alachua County staff for making it happen (we are looking at you and your crew, Charlie Houder and Vernest LeGree!❤️)… and all the wonderful children and their parents who came out today to celebrate!

The Alachua County Commission officially named the beautiful new Southwest Advocacy Group (SWAG) pocket park in the Linton Oaks community “Mark S. Hopkins Park”. The park was built using voter approved Wild Spaces, Public Places referendum funding. Check out the great video at this link below!
