The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office will host the following Halloween events coming up in October:
The first is a Drive-in Spooky Movie Night on October 16th at the Jonesville Soccer Fields starting at 7:00 pm. This event will be CDC compliant via a drive-in and limited participant contact. Campus Credit Union will provide free prepackaged popcorn, candy, and drinks.
The Second is the First Responder Trunk or Treat Drive-Through. There will be no contact, and everyone will be wearing PPE gear incorporated in their costumes. This event is at the Sheriff’s Office Parking lot. Participants will drive through the parking lot while being “protected” from the zombies. At the end, they will receive bags of candy from the “Decontamination team”. Anyone wanting to dress up and participate can receive community service hours through Teen Court. They also need adult actors! Please email Youth and Community Coordinator Jasmine Singleton jsingleton@acso.us to participate/sign up.
