Gratitude for Holiday Giving in Many Forms

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

We’ve seen many kinds of holiday giving these past few weeks. A group of frontline healthcare workers sent gifts for SWAG families. A few of our after school kiddos made a thoughtful creation for our staff. And SWAG board members and volunteers made and distributed meals in the community. We are so grateful to all who have worked to put a smile on someone’s face this December. We wish everyone a holiday season full of love, joy, and hope for the coming year!

A group of nurses and doctors in Shands’ Interventional Radiology department decided to adopt some of our families this year instead of their usual Secret Santa among themselves. We were so touched by this gesture, and we hope they know their giving spirits brought tears of joy to the parents who picked up their families’ gifts.

Some of our after school kids made this beautiful holiday creation for our staff! We appreciate these thoughtful and creative young people as well as the hard-working staff at the SWAG Family Resource Center.

Our 2020 SWAG Christmas Community Dinner (takeout style) was a success. Thanks to all the folks who went out in the cold to distribute the meals, and thank you especially to our wonderful chef, Jane!
