The SWAG Family Resource Center recently hosted Family Night Out which gave families an opportunity to spend time together while engaging in fun and educational activities. Children and parents earned prizes by participating in games that provided education about pool safety and other risk factors that impact child safety. Participants also had the opportunity to make their own pinwheels in keeping with the theme “Pinwheels for Prevention” as we recognize National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Families then learned about potting plants and potted rosemary to take home and use. After, families watched a healthy cooking demonstration and taste tested the meal. Many thanks to the UF/IFAS Family Nutrition Program and Alachua County Sheriff’s Office for their support of this event and their continued community involvement!
