SWAG Wins Women’s Giving Circle Impact Grant and Closes on a Lot for the Future CHILD Center

wgcSWAG’s future CHILD Center is the recipient of this year’s Women’s Giving Circle Impact Grant for $50,000. This grant will also help us draw down an additional $100,000 in matching funds, bringing the total funds we have raised for this project over the $400,000 mark! This brings us one (big) step closer to our dream of an early learning center right in the SWAG neighborhoods.

SWAG also closed on the lot where it will locate the future CHILD Center just a few feet away from our SWAG Family Resource Center and SW Health Clinic in the Linton Oaks neighborhood.  Thanks to Mr. Marcus Petty, who sold the vacant lot to SWAG for well under market value, the generous donor that purchased the lot for SWAG, the Women’s Giving Circle, and many, many other good people in our community, we are well on our way to realizing our dream for our SWAG children.
