The first ever Back-to-School Bash at our SWAG Family Resource Center was a huge success! This was a chance for our community to come out, enjoy the beautiful day, spend time together with neighbors and family, and, most importantly, get our school aged students off to a great start for the school year. Children received fully loaded back packs with the supplies they need for the school year, had a chance to meet teachers, and get some new school clothes. Additionally, there were carnival games and lunch for everyone that came to be part of the fun day! Many thanks to all of our partners that made the day great (Preservation & Enhancement, Infinite Energy, Tower Hill Insurance Group, Trinity United Methodist Church, Abundant Grace Community Church, and The Greater Gainesville Rotary Club who provided the back packs, supplies, and entertainment; teachers and staff at Chiles, Hidden Oak, Terwilliger and Ft. Clarke Middle schools for coming out to meet and sign up their students; and special thanks to Commissioner Lee Pinkoson for grilling burgers and hot dogs for over 200 people)!
