March is National Nutrition Month! This board covers nutrition benefits, suggested daily intake, and tips about each of the 5 food groups: fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy. It also includes a guide for using food nutrition labels to make healthy choices.
February is Black History Month, and we’re celebrating the many accomplishments of the Black community. On this month’s community bulletin board, SWAG intern Cyrus Santiago highlights a few people who are not often mentioned. These people are leaders who broke through societal norms and paved the way for others.

Some featured events for this month include the Community Dinner on February 18, HeadStart on-site enrollments on Mondays, and assistance from DCF Access Services on Thursdays. Unemployment applications and Family Court packages are available for pickup.
The School Board of Alachua County is considering two plans for elementary school rezoning. Plan B does not affect SWAG residents, while Plan G closes Terwilliger Elementary and moves all of the children to the new School I on Parker Road/122nd. ACPS staff visited the SWAG neighborhoods in January to hear from residents.
