Welcome to the website for the Southwest Advocacy Group (SWAG). We are a grassroots non-profit organization serving eight neighborhoods in SW Gainesville. As a result of years of hard work by community leaders and partnerships with local agencies, we offer a wide range of services.
Before you visit our service centers, we invite you to call 352-505-6823. Then, staff at the SWAG Family Resource Center can assist you and tell you about the programs and services that are available now. Examples include the following:
- High-quality early care and education
- Homework help for elementary and middle/high school students (call 352-505-6823)
- Weekly free bread & pastry distribution
- Monthly community dinners
- Weekly free clothing closet
- Daily computer & Internet access

SWAG Service Centers
SWAG patrons can access services at the following three sites:
The Family Resource Center offers supports like emergency food assistance and a clothing closet. Also, it serves as a space for child and adult programs like employability workshops and homework help.
The SW Health Clinic is a clinic run by the Alachua County Department of Health. It provides medical and dental services to individuals, including kids.
The CHILD Center for Early Learning provides high-quality early care and education for kids ages 0-5. Also the Center offers a variety of supports to caregivers.
